April 06
Presidents Report
I hope everyone had a great winter and ready to kick off the golf season. We have had some great days to play golf this winter and there are several changes on the course for you to see. If you haven’t paid your dues, please be sure to do so as soon as possible. If you know of any previous members that have not joined for a few years, give them call and let’s try to get them back. Look for other people that may be interested in joining and get them involved in some of the leagues or tournaments we are having. We need to grow our membership to be successful and we could use your help getting additional members.
The board and finance committee are working on a budget to guide the course through the year. We are close to be able to roll it out and establish limits on spending to keep us profitable.
The board meetings will move to 7:30 pm starting in April. We meet the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of every month. If you would like to find out more about the operations, please feel free to attend any of the meetings. Also, if at anytime you have questions do not hesitate to ask the board members. I want everyone to ask questions and get the proper response than listen to the rumors that are untrue.
I would also like to thank Lynn Angell of Angell Accounting for sponsoring this month’s newsletter.

General Manager’s Report
Work continues on the course as we prepare for the upcoming season. Pre-emergent has been utilized on the greens, tees, and fairways with a spring fertilizer application coming soon. The forward tee on Hole #6 will be temporarily closed for construction as well as the area right of #16 fairway and the new water hazards on #16 and #17. Your patience is appreciated.
The tournament schedule is available online at www.cliffsidegolf.com, however please be aware of changes throughout the year.
A reciprocating agreement with Riverside Golf Club in Mason, West Virginia has been finalized and should be beneficial to both clubs. Please join us in making our guests feel welcome while at Cliffside.
The new handicap system is now in operation. If you have questions please do not hesitate to ask the Pro Shop staff.
Finally, a special thanks to the Kiwanis Club of Gallipolis for the donation of a trailer which we plan to use for chemical storage. We look forward to seeing everyone soon.

As everyone can see, the driving range construction is currently at a standstill. This is due to the recent bad weather that we have had. The board recently voted to rent a dozer and complete the work sometime later this season as weather permits. The driving range committee needs all the help it can get. Anyone interested in being on the committee, volunteering labor, or donating to the completion of the range, please contact me and let me know.
As chairperson of the Rules and Regulations Committee and the responsibility of getting the newsletter to membership, I also need help in accomplishing these tasks. So if anyone is inclined to help I could sure use it and would be grateful for your help.
Thank You, and have a great golfing year!
