Social Committee

        The Social Committee is still looking for volunteers for the upcoming season. Tim Snedaker and Bill Medley have committed, but it will take more than that to plan upcoming events. If anyone is interested, you can reach me at 441-7189 (leave a message). If you haven’t heard, we are having a Texas Hold-Em tournament at the clubhouse on Tuesday nights after meetings, which is the second and forth Tuesdays of the month. We will continue this through the end of March and if it’s a success, we will start in the fall of 2006 and run all winter. Our first tournament was January 10th and we had 15 players and that was just by word of mouth. This is a Members Only tournament, so if you’re not busy come and play a little poker this winter.

         Discussion on Improvements to the clubhouse for 2006: 1.  Maintenance on the restrooms 2.  Installing vinyl siding on the front and sides of the clubhouse 3.  General clean-up and improve landscaping 4.  Update cash registers to track inventory and sales. Future Improvements for 2007: We hope to make the space above the clubhouse useable for “Paid Up” members with a TV, beer machine, and appropriate furniture. To help make these improvements possible, we need to try and increase the revenue with as little impact to members as possible. We feel the best way to accomplish this is to increase the beer prices as follows: Single Beer $ 1.75 Six Pack $ 9.00 Case Tournament prices – Raise to $1.25 per beer

        However, beer at any “Member Only” events will remain at $1.50 for single beers and $8.00 for six packs. With these improvements in mind and looking ahead to additional costs the course will incur in 2007 for grounds maintenance along with the likelihood of increased beer prices in 2006, we feel this increase is a necessity.
